Kansas Notable Books!
Kansas Notable Books recognizes 15 outstanding titles written by Kansans or about a Kansas-related topic. Kansas Notable Books highlight our contemporary writing community and encourages readers to enjoy some of the best writing of authors among us.
A committee of librarians, library staff, scholars and authors identify and review titles from those published the previous year for selection. The State Librarian selects the final 15 books. Authors and their books are honored with a medal reception in conjunction with the Kansas Book Festival.

!!Volunteers Needed!! Monday Sept. 29th at 9:30am to help carry boxes of books into the meeting room to set up for Annual used book sale! Bring a cart or dolly, if you have one!
Do you have a team, organization, or club or individuals that would be willing to help? (Boxes vary in weight from 10-40 pounds) Please contact the Girard Public Library or comment below!!
If you have a large group that can help and the day or time doesn't work, let us know! We are flexible on the date and time,Wednesday Sept 24,Thursday Sept. 25 Friday Sept 26 or Saturday Sept. 27 or Monday Sept. 29

Wednesday, September 17th @ 2:30 pm - Children's Movie Afternoon - Enjoy a movie and popcorn with us! Library staff will have 2 movies available and those that attend will vote for the movie they would like to watch.
Thursday, September 18th @ 10:00 am - Building Strong Readers Ages 0-5 - Have some fun with stories and a fun craft to go along with the books!
